Not terribly relevant now, I know, but here for the sake of posterity nonetheless.Next is that silly diagram thing I did explaining how bikes would be dredged out of the harbor for re-use... While I agree with Philip that this might not be the best idea for bikes intended to be ridden, perhaps a similar diagram could be used to explain how they are converted into bike racks, for instance.
And then there's the silo...

In photoshop, I added some moody tones. Strangely, whenever I imagine Copenhagen, it's always dark out...
And then some colour... (As I mentioned above, for some reason, I frequently feel as though I destroy some of my best sketches by colouring them, but photoshop proved to be an ally in that regard [note the awesome foliage I added!!])

ReplyDeleteso in terms of STORAGE, we have discussed using three methods: 1. silo; 2. ballards; 3. reconstructed and re-cycled/salvaged bicycle parts as storage/locking mechanism. i think we should highlight that these reconstructions should be in the vein of community oriented and sculptural. perhaps we can cite some precedents.
More specifically about the silos:
Hexagonal wire mesh with green indigenous plants [Darius has been working on this rendering so we can utilize this portion of the proposal in our collages]
And I propose a few things to be added to the architectural drawing/contextual renderings:
INCLUDE interactive touch-screen LCD panel with the Ko website - for booking and payment purposes -, RFID card dispenser, unique silo number - for access thru text message] - Erik, would you like to continue on your architectural drawings of the silo or pass this task onto someone else? if so, can you sen dout the CAD drawing. thank you!
And I really, really like your sketch of the proposal with the silos and hexagonal pavers, at night, with the lights - I'm really beginning to see it! And I think it'll be great to take the next step and build this in Rhino, render it, and collage this into the cityscape. This could be an incredible image!
