PAGE 14 [Darius]: Harry has 4 meetings around town. Show his itinerary and his use of the bollard system and silo. Also, show that he uses a cargo bike at the end of his work day to go grocery shopping.

-40 slides in, for example, a powerpoint presentation.
-unlocked PDF format and in JPG format. There must be a separate file for each illustration.
-'tear sheet' of the project: a picture/an illustration of their proposals as well as a brief written description of the proposal. The picture/illustration must be submitted in two diff erent resolutions: JPEG with 72 dpi and a maximum of 300 x 300 pixels, and JPEG with the highest possible resolution. The text may not exceed 500 characters including spaces.

8.1.2 Digital Material
Each entry should contain three [3] CD-R’s/DVD’s with

Digital concept material
Digital material should include all the necessary information.
A description and a visualisation in sketch form and
3D renderings of the concept in relation to Chapter 4. The
description and visualisation must not exceed 40 slides
in, for example, a powerpoint presentation.

Digital illustrations, photos and drawings
• All illustrations and texts included in the entry
should be prepared for reproduction in the jury’s
report. Illustrations should be in an unlocked
PDF format and in JPG format. There must be a
separate file for each illustration.
• A PDF file with a description booklet.
• For web and exhibition use, entrants are requested
to submit a picture/an illustration of their
proposals as well as a brief written description
of the proposal. The picture/illustration must be

_Booklet printing + submission materials: Mimeo versus lulu vs other options... we should begin to research which option to go with based upon services provided, cost, turn around time, etc. it looks like mimeo has a 50% off for new customer orders - maybe we should pursue this? today is monday october 26 - we should start assembling the book in the next week. are we going to try printing twice with one of these companies? or should we print our draft at a home/office in order to cut down costs? i noticed that some of these companies may possibly print to the edge of the paper, so therefore we dont need the margins set up in the current InDesign booklet template. ?? we are planning on 'red lining' the book on wednesday november 4, less than 1.5 weeks from today. that means, we should have most of the content of the booklet completed in the next 1.5 weeks.

_Submission material: we have to produce/layout 2 A1 sized boards for digital submission. and we also need to put together a maximim 40 slide power point. and lastly, we have to save all illustrations as jpegs AND pdfs for web and reproduction. this type of layout should begin on wednesday... so we can also begin to prepare the text needed to support our illustrations.

I was just trying to figure out exactly where our commuter architect will be arriving from as he travels from Aarhus to good old Copenhagen and I stumbled on I guess what you could call Denmark's hopstop. After I did a search for his itinerary and the train schedule came up I was curious about the little CO2 symbol on the menu bar and low and behold after I hit it, a cute little propaganda-ish diagram came up with all the graphical numbers to make it clear that as a train traveler for today I was spending 14.2 Kg where as a car driver I would be wasting a big ol' 31.8 Kg's. This has me thinking about Copenhagen's campaign to become the ECO-METROPOLE OF THE WORLD by 1215...

I worked on a very simple template today in InDesign CS3. I will bring it for the show-and-tell portion of tonight's meeting [by the way I am skipping my earlier engagement so I will be at my apartment at 7.30pm].

How to save InDesign CS3 files down to a legacy format

As you may have found out in unhappy circumstances, there is no such thing as a legacy format dropdown menu when saving an InDesign file. For those of us who've upgraded to CS3 everywhere, no problem right? However, if you're like me and only have access to CS3 at work or school and still have previous versions at home, there is a solution: It's called the InDesign Interchange format, file extension .inx. All you have to do to save an InDesign CS3 file down for legacy versions is go to File>Export and choose InDesign Interchange from the export file format dropdown menu. These files take slightly longer for InDesign to read upon initially opening them, but other than that they operate perfectly.One catch: InDesign CS or CS2 right out of the box cannot open .inx files, you need program updates that keep your version up to date. So if your .inx file doesn't work initially, try updating your program using the free updates available on Adobe.com. There's even an easy way to check. if your version number reads 4.0, you probably need an upgrade. 4.0.1 or later and you're golden :)Hope that helps with (one of the many) inconveniences of CS3!
