foto shopping spree

...is not coming along as quickly as planned. As I mentioned Sunday, in a rare turn of events, my office is extremely busy right now so I haven't been able to invest my mornings (as I normally would be able to) toward non-work-related efforts.

Here's a teaser using one of Brandon's recent photos that I liked:


Too Batman-esque?

Obviously this image lacks at least one critical thing: bikes. I was working on re-colouring some bikes to appear as though they are part of our bike share program but didn't finish yet..

Please offer your two cents regarding the color, placement, scale, yadda yadda yadda...

    very nice, erik! your photoshop skills are fantastic. the placement and scale seem on point to me. great job.

    one concern i have is that, though i equally like both representations of the free form parking and the silo, there is a discrepancy between the two in terms of their color scheme and 'feel'. as said, i really do like both - they both have nice qualities to them. perhaps, the silo could use some more of the red and blue colors we decided upon. though, in a way, i feel like the silver metal texture of the silo is a bit more refined than the primary red + blue. the silver color reminds me of the darker blue we decided upon - perhaps the free form parking can use some more of this influence. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_qvwrZ1L26tA/SuTuRv8l9bI/AAAAAAAAABM/swOlYRmtOzE/s1600-h/cphCargoBikeDiagram.jpg and also once the silo is placed within some of the context of kobenhavn, then perhaps the context/environment will make the two systems appear more cohesive [of the same branded bike share program].

    PHOTOSHOP TRICK FOR RE-COLORING:

    duplicate the backround layer (Brandon's photo) and place it on top of your layer (bike) and set the transparency really high so that it just gives it a layer of supposed-to-be-there similar light and environment.

    oh really? so you set the photo overlay at like 10% opacity to cast a pall of appropriate lighting?

    The composite image is quite compelling. I do agree with emily in establishing a cohesive material color palette for the free form parking and the silo.
